Red Al's revolutionary approach to hospitalityUpdated: December 20th, 2006
It appears that cost-cutting at City has reached extreme lengths, according to this story from AccountancyAge.
Earlier this year the magazine interviewed City chief executive Alistair ‘Red Al’ Mackintosh, whose nickname derives from his admiration of Marxist revolutionary Che Guevara (link).
During the interview Mackintosh offered AccountancyAge reporter Kevin Reed a fizzy drink from a fridge in the home dressing room - only to discover the fridge had been locked and he didn’t have a key.
So it seems our glorious chief executive now has something in common with the left’s favourite pin-up idol.
Guevara failed to liberate Bolivia, while ‘Red Al’ couldn’t liberate a can of coke.
