Mancityfans 3 Media 0Updated: December 20th, 2006

The Mancityfans talkboard is scooping the national and local media for transfer news.

On Sunday, a poster who has been in China during the tour claimed City were hoping to sign Tunisian right-back Hatem Trabelsi (link). This was confirmed on the offical site on Monday (link).

The poster, who calls himself Kippax, revealed that a grumpy-looking David James had spent some time on the phone in a heated debate the previous day. Two days later the Evening News announced that James was set to leave (link).

He also appears to be ahead of the game with news on Sylvain Distin, claiming a City player had told him on Sunday that Distin was only 50/50 to stay with Portsmouth being a likely destination.

Late last night (Monday) Radio 5 live reported that City were about to close the signing of Campbell - who was undergoing a medical at Portsmouth - adding strength to the Distin rumour.

I’ve been reading the talkboards closely in the last few months and have noticed how often they are ahead of the established media. Before Hamann signed, both Bluemoon and Wookie’s Lair were running accurate news almost a day before it was picked up elsewhere, while Mancityfans recently ran an exclusive interview with Micah Richards - who is the flatmate of someone who posts on the board (link).

Below are some of the best threads to appear on City talkboards recently, while a full list of City talkboards can be found in the Links section.
