How blue is your part of town?Updated: December 20th, 2006

A new report has worked out how many City season ticket holders live in each Greater Manchester ward.

The 84-page study - Football And Its Communities: Final Report For the Football Foundation - is the result of three years’ research by a group of academics based in Manchester and Sheffield.

The report focuses on three clubs, City, Sheffield United and Leeds, studies their work with the community and identifies the areas in most need of action.

The graphic (below) can be viewed in more detail on page 51 of the report. You’ll need Adobe Reader to open it, which can be downloaded for free here.

Written by the not-for-profit research company Substance (link), the report makes several recommendations. As well as urging clubs to look at ways to make their facilities more of use to the community, it calls on the government to consider reviewing its all-seater stadium policy.

Best of all, it has a great pic of the Blue Moon chippy on page 14.
