Barton is City's player of the season so farUpdated: February 12th, 2007
I thought I’d compile a table of the average player ratings for the 23 league games so far. The ratings are taken from newspapers and talkboards after each game. A game-by-game breakdown can be found lower down this page.
Not really much of a surprise that Barton came top and Hamann bottom. But what did strike me is that none of the six highest rated players are Pearce signings, while four of the bottom six are. Samaras aside, that probably reflects the strength of our academy and Pearce’s lack of transfer funds more than bad judgement on Pearce’s part.
I also noticed that Richard Dunne has just overtaken Barton in the Actim ratings, though I’m still not sure how good a guide to form they are.
