Bad vibes at Maine RoadUpdated: January 23rd, 2007
There was always something about the rebuilt Kippax that didn’t feel right. But according to this snippet in the McVittee archives from March 1998, the stand might have played its part in getting us relegated.
After wandering around Maine Road Feng Shui expert Lindsay Reade told the Evening News:
“I don’t think you have to be an expert on the art of Feng Shui to feel the malign energy of that stand. The worst thing about it is not the height but the sharp angle of the metal framework directed towards the pitch. It actually resembles a blade attacking the pitch.”
Although the North Stand encouaged chi (beneficial energy) the new Kippax was sending malign energy (sha) all round the place. Worse still, the toilets in the south-east corner were in the “wealth area”, which could have a negative impact on finances.
Money down the drain at City? Surely not.
And I thought I liked subbuteo
I’m not sure what this guy loves the most - City or subbuteo. Anyway, Paul Eyes has combined the two passions to make a pretty impressive City subbuteo collection.
He’s also built a Man City subbuteo stadium (note to FA: finished on time and on budget), complete with fans, a royal box and interview room.
Apparently he added a subbuteo ‘B’ of the Bang once, but it kept falling over.
